Sahara
Desert Supposition for the Global Environment
We
are sure that anyone in the world would appreciate that any, busy person;
prominent world figure
or somebody who has hope for the future, would not
necessarily have time to read unsolicited junk mail, URL's or obscure web
site projects. However, such is the potential significance of the
project below, we believe it warrants scrutiny from office high and low. A
reasonable perusal will take up only 0.000099
% of your life. We would hope that
we receive a reply from some suitable station, or a comment maybe
from you. We are
just a small concerned group. This is not an academic piece; it does not
wish to preach, just inform; pointing out as to what could be possible.
The
Proposal
May
we respectively suggest that the "World
Governments"
obtain
funds to purchase a large amount of Desert to ecologically manage it for
the benefit of the whole planet? The idea is to take this area, and
through Terraforming, turn it into a new State, a new Country; new lungs; one that is made up of a vast new
Rainforest and a vast new Ocean of Fresh
Water. To bring new hope to Africa.
"Sahara"
is an old Sanskrit word - Sagara - meaning Ocean.

The
Sahara - The largest desert in the world. Filling nearly all of Northern Africa, it measures approximately 3,000 miles,
that is 4,800 kilometers, from east to west and between 800 and 1,200 miles
from North to South and has a total area of some 3,320,000 square miles,
or 8,600,000 square kilometers. The Sahara is bordered in the West by the Atlantic Ocean, in the
North by the Atlas Mountains and Mediterranean Sea, in the East by the Red Sea, and in the
South by a zone of ancient, immobile sand dunes aligned with latitude 16° N.
Sahara
means not only Desert, but also Ocean.

The Sahara Supposition - Terraforming the Sahara
This
piece has been rewritten many times. There was a time when we were
proud to be getting 1,000 visitors each week. Now we see 5,000 a
day, making this Website one of the most popular on the planet. We
our now a general information Data Base. Or presence generates up to one
million US dollars a year, though we see only a small fraction of
that.
This
total site covers a multitude of topics and subjects. When it
started over FIVE years ago, this page was its only Webpage.
The Sahara Supposition is a thing that we suppose could happen and
is perhaps one of the most important pages any person living on
planet Earth could actually read.
In our first year we achieved 10,000 hits,
in the second year 40,000 people clicked on board to read something
that we had written. In our third year, we received 150,000 hits and
nearly 400,000 pages were read.
Today we regularly get over
5,000
hits in a day and achieved ONE MILLION HITS on the 9th March
2005. Two million on 25th November 2005.
This
Webpage, is about Terraforming the Sahara Desert, to reclaim
it for the benefit of the Planet Earth,
to produce a new
Rainforest and an Ocean of fresh water and a new wealth for Africa.
To make new homes for the species that decline everyday.
Soon
we will achieve, during 2006, over 2,000,000 visitors every year; this will
take us to around the 50,000th most popular Website on the Internet.
Out of nearly TEN BILLION, that is not bad.
On
a sad note, this Webpage, that endeavors to Save the World, will be
visited by only 10,000 visitors, out of those two million.

The Sahara Supposition
In 2051, the world's global environment
will start to change without fear of God or Man. The crux of it is that by
around 2080, due to Global Warming, melting ice-caps and fresh water
bringing the Gulf Stream to a standstill, our Northern Hemisphere, will be thrust
into the biggest Ice-Age for 20,000 years. Millions of people who live in
the North of our planet, that is, Northern USA, Canada, Northern Europe,
will be killed, or made homeless at best.
Today, the people of Africa, our biggest
continent, are dying in numbers that are unbelievable, through Starvation, AIDS, Malaria, many other diseases, dirty water, wars, homicide,
TB
and genocide.
The So-called civilized world bangs many
drums to try to prove that it is helping to change this Extinction Level
Event, but it is all a
farce.
Let us imagine, if
we can, how poignant it would be,
if say in one million years time, some advanced alien culture was to visit

and $200 million. But this is nothing in the scheme of monetarism. War
engulfs more every second.
In 1972, the USA declared that it was
spending $24 million each and every hour on the Vietnam War. What is that in
today's money? A Live 8 concert every hour; 8,760 every year, for how
many years?
In less than a century, many millions of
people who live in our Northern Hemisphere, will need somewhere to live,
they will have, Africa.
Parts of the USA, most of the UK and
Europe will be covered in ice that could be a kilometre thick.
Great cities like Chicago, New York,
London, Moscow, will be gone, sealed in some frozen stasis for maybe another
century or millennium. Sadly this will make recent Hurricane strikes look
like a breeze.
By then most native Africans will be dead
and for the first time in Earth's history, Africa will be a continent
dominated by white races.

and no doubt one day they will, and they will be mostly white.

TERRAFORM
DESERT PROJECT. This Web-Page is about transforming the
Global Environment by changing / developing / terraforming the Great Sahara Desert with a
$200 - 300 Billion ecology / construction Supposition. It asks
whether it could actually be terraformed and made into something most valuable for this planet Earth. However, it may
not be just valuable, it may be imperative for all water-drinking, air-breathing creatures
on this planet and not least of course, for the continent of Africa.
It
contains around 100 photographs of the desert.
Dr.
Robert Watson, Chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change said in
2001.
" The overwhelming majority of scientific experts, whilst
recognizing that scientific uncertainties exist, nonetheless believe
that human-induced climate change is already occurring and that future
change is inevitable.
We
doubt if the Human Animal will survive past 2100 AD
Stating
that the proposal in the Sahara Supposition is akin to a New Noah's
Ark goes to the very root of its implications and ambitions. Today, Rainforests
and Oceans
are either being destroyed at an inconceivable rate or are being
polluted on a scale that in point of fact increases every day. The
Sahara Supposition wishes to reclaim relatively an otherwise unused
area through terraforming that will replace only a small part of the
Natural World that has been destroyed in the Global Environment in
the last 30 years, by Humankind. It would want to take to this area, as many species of foliage as necessary, and replant
them, and nurture them in an area that will be free from human
destruction.
Two
by Two - Helping the Global Environment
It
would also want to take as many congenial animal species as possible
and relocate them to an area where Humankind will not be part of the
equation in their future obliteration. It will create a safe haven
for the Natural World forever. Its part in the aid to Africa will be
to also create custom built cities on its periphery that are super
energy efficient; models for the rest of the world to follow. It
would create New Age industries for a New Africa to at last, develop
in a way that many have hoped it would, for the last hundred years.
Often
it takes just a few simple resources for impoverished people
to be able to grow enough food to become self-sufficient.
These resources include quality seeds, appropriate tools and
access to water. Small improvements in farming techniques
and food storage methods are also helpful.

basically wastelands; most were once green and flourishing.
All deserts grow a bit more each year. In theory, they may one day take

Such
is this situation, that persons trying to stop, what could soon
force an insurrection by our planet, and one that might put an end
to the human environment, are being murdered; perhaps a thousand in
the last 20 years. They were the people, heroes even, that did not
just sit and worry, they endeavored to change our fate and died for
their actions. Therefore, it is no real new news to anyone that
something significant needs to be achieved, to alter the course of
Natural World history.

A Notion
We
write today with a notion, that we have had for many years. It is about the
reclamation of a slice of land the size of the USA; a new development that
could change the world and the world's climate; a new system that could also be used around the whole
Globe, turning waste into green. If you
think deeply about it, it is perhaps the most sobering article web-page you will ever read,
However it will only be a matter of time that will uncover and
prove this
fact; it may well
be over 75
years before its significance about climate change, re-desertification, rainforest
destruction and pollution is believed.
Let us imagine, if
we can, that if we continue as we are at present destroying the Natural
World, how poignant it would be,
if say in one million years time, some advanced alien culture was to visit
this third rock from the Sun. Simply to explore a most insignificant solar
system to find that there was scarcely, any actual evidence that the
primitive human animal had ever existed.
It
is our fervent belief that there is a momentous opportunity for the people
of this world to change this future episode by developing an area of land
larger than Australia. Its greatest strategy is to avoid the looming:
Extinction
Level Event.
This project has taken into account:
Climate Change, Terraforming, Global Warming, Human Sanitation,
Fresh Water, Disease, Pollution, the reduction of Poverty, Terrorism and the creation
of new drugs. Nevertheless, they take no preference over what could be seen as
a lesser objective. Moreover, relatively speaking, this huge project will cost
nothing
Zero Cost .
Whilst
we try to be politically neutral and stay on the side of reasonableness, we must comment
thus:
Zero Cost . So
very much less than the exponential cost of the 9-11
atrocity. This Terraform project, that may save the planet, will cost pennies
in comparison to what will be consumed as a result of a group of alleged intelligent
human beings, who thought that it was a positive act for humanity to destroy
the New York World Trade Center, on September 11th 2001. Thought it
was also a positive act for this
whole planet, to destroy the thousands of
innocent occupants who worked in the World Trade Center; there just to make a
living.
On
the September 11th 2001, this site commented that the financial ramifications of this
atrocity would exceed over $1,000,000,000,000. Many scoffed but by the
September 11th 2011, this will be true.

How
far down the road to the eventual complete annihilation of humanity will we
be, by then? But
then
how ironic it would be, how different would it have been, if those
alleged
intelligent
people had read this site and then
decided to push their efforts and energy into a more positive step for their

To Produce New Ingredients for
New Life.
This
proposal to terraform the Sahara, of course on first reading sounds utterly absurd and laughable and how any
federation could actually achieve it, is just as ridiculous. Nevertheless,
please allow us to continue. You will soon witness that it is an engineering
project equal to say ten times anything, which has ever been accomplished
before. However, you must balance this with the present "
engineering
project " by which the world’s citizens and its industry produce, by the
thousands of tons, obnoxious toxic and poisonous gases and waste every year,
and pour them into the globalenvironment.
This ridiculous project,
the Sahara Supposition, even
though it is seemingly so huge, is infinitesimal in comparison.
Nevertheless, how would or could it be
done? Whatever! It will be completed one day,
or we will feel the wrath of Mother Nature. It is just a disgrace that it is
of
a need in the first place because we are stopping Nature from working;
stopping Nature following a natural course.
Photosynthesis
Consider
also from where we get all oxygen and proteins. The destruction of the oxygen /
protein giving vegetation on our planet, is non-stop; a suicidal occurrence every
second of every day; an 'engineering' undertaking in itself of no mean feat.
However, an action that is sadly compelled by the conditions that people have to
live in on some Continents, as they strive to exist.
It
is simple to consider then, that
the destruction of the Rainforest will vastly increase carbon dioxide
levels, polluting the atmosphere by being less able to contend with the ever
increasing fossil fuel burning. The oceans produce, by far, most of our
oxygen but increased carbon dioxide will even change this.
At present the Amazon and other forests
just barely soak up all the fossil fuel carbons which we produce as it is.
Countless Billions of tons of carbon dioxides are stored in a myriad of
ways, one of the most significant is the vegetation of the rainforest. But
the gradual increase of these greenhouse gases will raise the temperature of
the planet.
[The year 2000 was a warmer year than 1999, which was the
record then.]
As the Earth's climate warms there is a great danger
that the Rainforest will get less seasonal rain and actually go through a
yet unforeseen dry season. If this happens the absorption process will stop;
rainforest vegetation Photosynthesis,
will
STOP and leaves will fall and carbon dioxide levels will increase
significantly, increasing
Global Warming that will again, make the dry season even longer, and then
BANG!!! The balance will tip.
Photosynthesis The chemical process by which green plants synthesize organic compounds from carbon dioxide and water in the presence of sunlight. It occurs in the *chloroplasts (most of which are in the leaves) and there are two principal series of reactions. In the light reactions, which require the presence of light, energy from sunlight is absorbed by *photosynthetic pigments (chiefly the green pigment *chlorophyll) and converted into chemical energy. In the ensuing dark reactions, which can take place either in light or darkness, this chemical energy is used in the production of simple organic compounds from carbon dioxide and water. Further chemical reactions convert these compounds into chemicals useful to the plant. Photosynthesis can be summarized by the equation:
CO2 + 2H2O ? [CH2O] + H2O + O2
Since virtually all other forms of life are directly or indirectly dependent on plants for food, photosynthesis is the basis for all life on earth. Furthermore virtually all the atmospheric oxygen has originated from oxygen released during photosynthesis.
Without
Photosynthesis
we would not have oxygen to breathe OR proteins to eat. In sunlight green
plants use this energy to produce oxygen and proteins through Photosynthesis.
Every
hour of everyday the Sun gives off enough energy that could supply the
Earth for a whole year.
Without
the world's rainforests the balance may one day be lost.
Three
thousand acres of life-giving plants are still eaten away by some circumstance every hour of
every day.

initiative is a desperate attempt to reverse the threat to jungle trees.
Every
month or so we here of new parcels of rainforest being made sanctuaries; is
it enough?
THIS
IS NOT ENOUGH !!
Something fundamentally huge must be done
NOW !!
The United States
The
United States of America is the largest consumer in the world; this is in
actuality and per capita. However, it cannot be totally blamed for the
global problems that are before us and it is must be commended for the small
endeavor that attempts to reverse the tide. Besides, it is also the fourth
biggest country on the planet, with a large modern population to take care
of. It has tried to meet its responsibilities further by spending another
$100,000,000 to create preservation areas for those plants best able to
utilize photosynthesis.
Areas of preservation seem an ideal solution, but we
believe our supposition is another pathway; another area to look at.
The
Sahara Desert Supposition
The
Sahara Desert is the first choice. The Sahara Desert is clearly the best
vehicle for what we perceive. If one should consider the Sahara Desert or
some similar large desiccated and blistering plot, these areas are at
present of no use other than being the home of a small group of animals and
very few inhabitants. They are part of a continual desertification of the
planet that increases daily. Every year desert areas grow bigger and bigger;
even in the USA, their deserts occupy significantly more land than they did twenty years
ago. Boundaries grow by over TEN kilometers each year. Therefore, it may be imperative that these lands be turned back into
regions fit for new cities, farmlands, tourist areas and of course new
sanctuaries for the Natural World.
Terra-Forming
First,
understand that The Sahara is this suitable domain for such a change; an
area of several thousand square kilometers and a region that has been
hitherto relatively worthless; then conceive of a way to obtain the land and
all its rights as a motherland. Whilst initially highly complex, it could
actually be done quite efficiently and with reasonable consideration, should
the human component reach such a consensus. Anyway, this is hardly any
precedent, many lands in the past, such as Hong Kong, have been acquired,
for whatever reason, so that they could be governed for better or for worse
by an alien power. However, we must look past any imperialism here. And
it would therefore seem reasonable that any of the surrounding countries
that ‘own’ The Sahara, would be more than willing to ‘sell’ their
rights to this seemingly worthless solitude; for an amount, that would take
their people and the people of the World, forward into this new era,
now!
Politically,
the Sahara lies largely in Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt,
Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Chad, and Sudan. Once one country accepted a
reasonable payment or consideration for land that has no real use to them,
others would follow, not only for the original payment, but also for what
this large World Investment would bring to their people, and Africa and the
future.
Forgoing all that is political, forgoing all hostile opinions, what
must be held in our sights is Earth-2100 and all the surprises we have
waiting there for us. Whatever will be in the year 2100 is not cast in
stone. What the people of the 2000 years do and think will set the mould for
the future of Humankind. How they shape their societies and how their
leaders show how they lead, will create the future, for either good or bad.
In
terra-forming the desert, cooling would be a problem for humans unless some
local cheap source of power was convenient. However, state of the art
insulation and protection devices would not only reduce this problem but
also encourage research and development in this area, and conditions would
not be any worse than others would, in already scorching inhabited regions.
Water, as it always is, would be a major problem and could deter any
investor as the opportunity cost could far outweigh the opportunity. We,
as a small group of people, have always had this notion that the USA, Great
Britain, Europe and Japan along with others, should then buy a major part
of The Sahara and use it to benefit the planet. Consideration in the
$billions would be required to achieve this, but there is a return,
financial and environmental.
In balance,
British, North American, European and other International engineering and technology
skills could be applied and developed to turn this waste back into the green area that it
once was. Thus discharging this deficit to some extent, paying back in part
what could be seen as an otherwise onerous financial burden. We believe then that
there would be a imposing world interest in this step forward, as we all know now
that green is being ravaged on a
daily basis at a phenomenal rate, and that nobody really knows the full
truth of what the future holds.
Nobody
knows the truth about how long global plant life will continue to sustain
us. At present respiratory vegetation is being destroyed, and the land is not
usually regenerated, but turned over to cattle, and they in turn erode it and make it
largely unproductive, this increases the relentless desertification of
the planet.
The green pundits cry
out everyday, asking when something is going to be done. However,
do they really have a voice in stopping this destruction? Now is the
opportunity to forget what is happening to the world’s rainforests, and
act in working together to reclaim some Spartan desolation, and make it
complete again. Now is the time for the pundits to act and support something
that will construct and build, not try to accomplish the unachievable.
It
was only 10-12 thousand years ago when the Sahara was a Rainforest,
swampland and fertile area itself, a home to much wildlife, and
it could be so yet again.
If something constructive is not done, it does not
take much more than a pocket calculator to discover that it is more than
theory to learn that, at the present rate, if the Green Movement does not
stop the present carnage, there will be insufficient
greenery
able to apply photosynthesis and create adequate oxygen for the ever-growing
population, within a hundred years.
Without oxygen humanity cannot survive,
this includes world leaders, world financiers and all World Wide Natural
Life. Therefore, it should be almost a visceral interest of World Bank
leaders and affluent countries and multi-national companies to offer
long-term loans at very reasonable rates, as their personal offering in
saving the planet for our descendants. If you could get enough, arguably 100
or more very wealthy groups, to be part of some huge conglomerate; it would
be not only another act which brought the world together on one united front
but one that might save humanity.
So instead
of the obscene spending of hundreds of Billions of dollars on Armaments;
bombs and guns that kill, lets look for a positive use
for this
funding.It would then be a
combined involvement; one that could save the planet, from what is almost an
ultimate epilogue. Their commitment could be just $1- 2B and it would still
only be a small percentage of what they could eventually lose, if we were
all dead.
An
Ocean of Fresh Water
Not
only could a New Rainforest be cultivated but also a new body of water.
Water, that
other thing that living things need. It is said that if all the world’s
water were represented with a five-liter bottle; only one drop would
represent available fresh water suitable for human consumption. So saline,
so defiled is our most treasured possession, that it might not be fit to be
called water.
However,
we can suppose that an ocean of clean fresh water could eventually be
produced, adding to this ‘drop’. This could increase more regular
rainfall in lower regions of Africa. Fresh water is the world’s most
important commodity and most First World countries enjoy it on tap, so to speak. However, at the
present rate of enjoyment, many developed countries in the future will have
to ration supplies. We may get back to a situation in the European
Middle Ages when only weak beers and wine could be drunk safely because
there was no such thing as clean drinking water, unless you were very rich.
If G8 countries ever got to this stage, what hope for most of Africa and
Asia? How
could Africa ask for aid for fresh water when past benefactors are
themselves struggling to supply it domestically?
Is
time running out?
What
infrastructure would be needed to create a New Ocean of Fresh Water? As a
first step, just one option to help any future water dilemma, please
envisage that British, North American, African and other National companies
could lay hundreds of miles of large
double
- pipelines
from every major
country surrounding the Sahara Desert. These conduits would take all the
sewage, as long as it was contained in fresh
water, away from these areas, thus relieving the many present
problems of human waste at present. Relieving the Mediterranean, Atlantic, Red Sea and other
sewage dumps; this unwanted water would then be purified and
utilized.
If this project is started not only would clean water be produced for
use in Africa, most of the material of the sewage could be used,
valuable fertilizer would be made, as would methane and other products. All
this could be an initial power source, along with solar-power, and used to turn the Desert into a garden. A
garden that would be encouraged to grow.
Ultimately this would be part of a World Federation, working together and eventually, on the
periphery of this garden, would be produced new state-of-the-art
technologically and efficiency based cities for a
New
Africa.
New
cities that would attract much needed immigration of talented and skilled
individuals, from all around the world.
From
this base for many thousands of acres a new Rainforest could be produced. The Sahara is a very
fertile plain and with water and correct nurturing a new forest could soon spread. A new green
habitat that would have a covenant that it could never be plundered for unreasonable financial
gain. A new planting ground for yet undiscovered drugs. A new home for many of the world's
endangered species.

Plant
Any of a vast group of living organisms classified in the kingdom Plantae; there are some 400 000 species. Plants are typically immobile and most manufacture their own food by
photosynthesis. Plant cells have rigid walls and grow to give support, from specialized zones of tissue, continuously or periodically. Plants lack sense organs and a nervous system; response to external stimuli is usually slow and often irreversible. Green plants are the primary source of food and oxygen (from
photosynthesis) for all animals.
photosynthesis The means by which plants and certain bacteria produce food (in the form of carbohydrates) from carbon dioxide and hydrogen. The energy for the process is provided by light absorbed by the green pigment chlorophyll, which is contained in the *chloroplasts. Plants use water (H2O) as the hydrogen source and release oxygen as a by-product. The reaction can be summarized by the equation:
Plankton Minute or microscopic animals (zooplankton) and plants (phytoplankton) that float in open waters. The phytoplankton carry out
photosynthesis in the surface waters. The zooplankton include protozoa, small crustaceans, and larvae. Plankton are of great importance as a food for fish and whales.
70% of our oxygen / proteins
come from the oceans.
The
Earth's largest satellite, the Moon. The way the environment is continually being
ravaged maybe in one thousand years time Earth will become more like the
Moon, and then the human animal will be gone forever.
It is said that a football pitch size, of healthy life-giving
green
is being destroyed every second and that during any year, a Rain
Forest the size of Great Britain itself, is laid waste. This is
mainly due to logging.
In
the major cities of India, due to rising population and ageing
infrastructure, drinking water-pressure has halved in the last five
years. It is predicted by some that it will run out, especially in
Delhi, in the next ten years. This means that a city with millions of
citizens will have NO water. No water to wash with, no water to
process food and serve industry, let alone to drink to stay alive.
Great
Britain presently releases up to 300 million tons of raw sewage into
the seas around its coast each year. This Sahara strategy could
be negotiated as an initially free service to encourage the halting of
pollution to the Mediterranean Sea, local water tables and the
Atlantic and Indian Oceans et al. However, an eventual charge for this
disposal could go some way in paying for this facility in the long
term.
Any Ice-Age covers the Earth with
over two thirds of ice. Six million years ago the Earth was totally covered in
ice, like some giant snow-ball. This could happen again; only because of the
molten core of our planet, was there ample glass houses gases, that
could be naturally released
over hundreds of thousands of years allowing the planet to warm quite sufficiently
for the ice to melt and allowing eventually the planet to be warmed back up.
Almost
90% of the world’s fresh reservoirs are essentially locked away in
the ice caps and there they must stay.
The
UK Lottery Organizers, Camelot have worked out that from the year 2000 to
2100 the British public will spend up to £530,000 Billion, (
Nearly $800,000 Billion), on the National Lottery.
What
would the cost of Terraforming the Sahara Desert Cost ??
New
York uses one and a half billion gallons of fresh clean water every
single day, and this consumption rises every single day. The United
Nations proclaims that by 2025 over 5 billion people will face fresh
clean water problems and shortages. This compounds all the other ills
that go with the intake of tainted drinking water. Nevertheless, you
might say that 25 years is a long way away, so why worry.
According
to the 1996 World Food Summit, 840 million people live in the condition
of chronic, persistent hunger, one-seventh of our human family. The vast
majority of hungry people live in South Asia and sub-Saharan Africa.
Experts
predict that although water may eventually be our downfall, in that
most of us may drown, they also envision that if there is a World War
III, it could be waged over fresh supplies of the substance. Within
twenty years, we foresee that most modern western homes will have some
kind of purifying desalination system in their homes. The main
wedding gift will traditionally become one of these units because
people will soon realize that without clean drinking water we have
nothing
The
Amazon River is so wide that from its mouth pours 20% of all moving fresh water
on Earth. It casts into the Atlantic Ocean every second over seven million cubic
feet of fresh water, draining an area the size of the USA.
The
Amazon is so powerful that fresh water can be drank from the Atlantic 100 miles
out. Maybe several hundred miles of fresh water can be found at lower depths.
The
Amazon River has more than 1,000 tributary streams feeding it.
LESS
THAN 1.6% of the World's Water is FRESH. (Without Salt etc)
In
1997, it was recorded that over 50% of the world’s population lacked
proper sanitation and. over 20% lacked good drinking water The correct
and moral use of this human waste will change this statistic forever
and be a blueprint for the future.
In summary, we would firmly recapitulate that such a proposition maybe
above what the people of Earth are capable of achieving. We are in no doubt
though that something akin to this must be achieved; for such is the temperamentof Nature, time maybe the thing we no longer have. Ice Core Records
show that only 10 -12,000 years ago, the overall temperature of this planet
started to rise. A Natural Global Warming. An acceleration that lasted only
one hundred years before the balance of climate and ocean currents were lost,
bringing on a new Ice Age, in only THIRTY years.
Our Sun
is the most prominent feature in our solar system, yet it is a mere
glimmer in the whole scheme that we call everything. It is our
largest entity and contains just about 98% of the total solar system
mass. Over one hundred Earths would be needed to fit across the
Sun's circumference, and inside it could house over 1.3 million
Earths.
The
Sun's outer visible layer is called the photosphere and has a
temperature of 6,000°C or 11,000°F. This cover has a
mottled appearance due to the turbulent eruptions of energy at the
surface.
The Sahara Supposition
From This?
To This !
If
there is anyone who can do anything to help with the publicity of this project please do so.
Please just tell one friend. Please just mention it to just one person. It will happen one
day, and if it does not, one day ?
There
are many eminent scientists and environmentalists who would declare that living Humanity will
no longer be a part of this planet by the year 2100.
FROM
NOW, THIS IS HOW MANY DAYS THERE ARE LEFT, BEFORE THIS HAPPENS!
The Sahara Supposition
Ocean
of Fresh Water
An
Ocean of Fresh Water
As
well as taking sewage from coastal Africa, other
fresh water could be tapped from other surrounding natural sources, as long
it did not interfere with the present conditions, to produce, after
purification, a large mass of
‘clean’ fresh water. Would this not only create a priceless asset for
Africa and its surrounding plant-life development, but also take such a great
quantity from the present world pool that is increasing due to Global
Warming.This may not be enough
of a mass to reduce increasing water levels on a global level but an ocean
that could possibly be 500 kilometers wide and 2,000 kilometers long
would hold a lot of weight. Especially if it had a possible potential depth
of around 300m. A hugely extraordinary feat for humankind, affording
benefits that would reverberate around the planet. A feat that may be
totally impossible or impracticable, but say if Humanity did not exist by
the year Earth-2100, would the financial cost matter?
To
move millions of tons of sand and debris away from this area is a major
operation to say the least. Nevertheless, a task that seems unrealizable
would indeed be impossible if humanity did actually no longer exist, or the only people
who had clean fresh water were those with the biggest guns.
As water
levels rise, sand and other erosion defense materials, will become more
valuable than gold, if, of course, we should ask where would the sea level
be, at the turn of the next century. The affairs of sand and water will soon
be on everyone’s lips. It is almost ironic that the image of a good
vacation and a good time is at the shoreline of a vast expanse of sand and
water, material that we look at now as seemingly worthless. What worth would
The Sahara become as we get nearer to such predicaments?
Our
patronizing comments about the poor 'Developing World' would at last, give this vast part of our planet a
chance to fulfill
this purpose. To
actually Develop !
Ironically,
in TEN years it will be calculated that the 9-11 atrocity will have cost to
humanity, over $1,000 Billion. If only this could have been used for
something more positive.
The
UK Lottery Organizers, Camelot have worked out that from the year 2000 to
2100 the British public will spend up to £530,000 Billion, (
Nearly $800,000 Billion), on the UK National Lottery.
It
is estimated that some 800 million people in the world suffer from
hunger and malnutrition, about 100 times as many as those who actually
die from it each year.
Food and Agriculture Organization of the
United Nations (FAO)
Ocean
of Fresh Water
From
this ocean of fresh water would be created a gigantic resource that could
eventually be sold back as clean fresh water to the surrounding richer
countries, and given to the impoverished countries as an aid scheme. The use
of the double pipeline would be essential here. It would not only carry
sewage one way and clean fresh water the other but also, power and optic
fibers to improve communications in this continental region. This territory
could become not only a link to wed the North & South of our biggest continent,
but also a catalyst
that would create a better Africa that has been left hitherto behind the
rest of the world’s continents. Consider further that along side the
Double Pipelines there would be a new transport system.
A
New Train System
A
train line system could be laid along side the double-pipeline for ease of
transportation. A new system of track and rolling stock could be used; one
that could run in straight lines and is at least two to three times the
width of present rail. This will allow trains to travel up to 300 - 500
miles per hour and carry huge amounts of freight and passengers. Raised up on
plinths to avoid the sand, or having the tracks lined either side with heavy
vegetation that could protect them, they would be a paramount part of the rejuvenation.
At
first, such a system would be used to transport only workers, supplies and
waste materials, but then in due time goods and passengers from one country
to another. This venture could change and revitalize the northern part of
the African continent for the rest of time. Furthermore, once these
countries had become used to this idea of a common ideal and reliant upon
it, this would hold significant political strength for the common good,
within what has been historically an area with some problems.
At present, The
Sarah Desert is a large expanse of desertification about the size of the USA
and it is practically unpopulated. It has no use other than being some great
divide between the people of the north, mainly Arabs and the people of the
south, mainly Black Africans. This province is in much need for
redevelopment and such a program, within fifty years, would turn this area
into a new nation that would feed and unite this long forgotten continent.
We feel sure that it is only a matter of time that this will be executed in
the future.
Microsoft
co-founder Paul Allen is alleged to have pledged $13M to help in a project
to discover whether there is any alien life outside of our solar system. In
addition, the demi-god Bill Gates himself is looking to ‘donate’ some of
his $50Billion fortune to fund extraordinary ventures. The United State’s
Space Program under NASA is said to bring in $100 Billion profit each year. Therefore, finance may not be the problem, just a determination for
something that must be done, and will be done, one day.And if not by the people of the 2000 millennium, it will be
completed by others more insightful, and with more sensible causes in mind,
such as saving humanity.
The
Federation
An enrolled management group could be
formed taking representatives of the companies, banks or countries as
directors of the group or members of the council, to give important input,
not paramount decision making. This group would be responsible for the
making of reasonable rules and constitution for the organization and
construction of the infrastructure needed to meet all the group aims.
Moreover, responsible for the body of laws that will, not govern but take
care of this total concept, so that it will be for all things positive.
The
total infrastructure would be immense but so what. Water and oxygen are the
stuff of life, and a major problem everywhere; it needs serious investment
to change the status quo of the 2000 years.
UNICEF,
would inform TODAY, that some 8,000
[ EIGHT THOUSAND ]
children die every 24 [TWENTY FOUR] hours from
diarrhoeal dehydration. Of course most of these poor children live in
Africa. Nearly
50,000 die daily altogether around the world through a myriad of
erroneous reasons. If this were happening in the USA or Europe, it would be a
World calamity. However, it could not happen in the rich West.
Nevertheless, if we go forward to 2050, a reachable period for most
alive today, might it be the case? Some tangible operation must be
started now. Anyway, how as part of the Human race can we allow this situation
to continue anyway?
Is
it not a humiliation to us all, that the people of the barbaric 21st Century
did not know this?
SEVEN
of NINE
Tony
Blair, the now infamous British Prime Minister of the 21st century has said:
"The
state of Africa is a scar on all the consciences of the World."
Science
Fiction is the Mother of Science-Fact,
and its Father is money.
In
the movie: Civil Action, a true story
starring John Travolta, it portrays how we have not only a lack of
compassion for human suffering but such a great disregard for the essence of
life: fresh drinking water
So if we, the people of the world as a global
entity, are ever able to acquire this large piece of land and build the
pipelines, the train system and develop the ocean and the new rainforest,
what future would it hold?. But how capable are
we? Any reader of this would think that this scheme
is of such immensity that it would be impossible to take on. However,
consider the attitudes of the British and the Europeans when they did the
same to Asia, Africa, the Americas and other parts of the world. It may have
taken many years, and be out of context, but alien areas were put to use,
and have produced great countries of great wealth. Whether this was a moral
action or not, cannot change the future that is before us. Just like all of
Mother Nature's creatures, every particle of life wants to spread itself; to
continually expand its domain.
Such is the human
endeavor to explore and change, that we believe that one-day people will
travel to the Asteroid Belt and engineer all these loose fragments to mould
one new planet. Once a large enough group of them was formed, its
gravitational pull would draw in other rocks, making it bigger and more of a
draw. This, theoretically, would collect up all the other Asteroids as it
orbited the Sun. Hopefully, this could then change any possibility of
an asteroid hitting Earth, as has been predicted will happen within this new
millennium.
Also consider the long-term endeavor to
Terraform the
planet Mars; what people are these to suggest such a venture; let them
start here.Let them
practice with this idea; the world has never been better equipped to take on
such a project and such schemes are needed to prove to humanity that it can
still exceed and cross all boundaries.
Science
Fiction
All that comes to pass has mostly been written about before it
happens; the imagination of the author is always more often than not the
first step to any futuristic plan. Those that flew to the Moon were once
children exited by stories of our future in space. Without conscious thought
and imagination, knowledge would not exist and science is indeed impotent
without money. It lacks desirability without fiction to discover it and the
cash to pay for it. The whole world must therefore find a determination to
take on such a purpose mentioned above or just sit still and watch Mother
Nature fight back for all the depravity that has been bestowed upon her by
human beings. Mother Nature owes all of us nothing; it does not care if the
Earth has human-life on it or not.
Much of the response we have had to
this document has actually declared quite categorically that the planet
Earth would be far better off without its human passengers. But does that falling
tree really make a noise in a forest where there is no one to hear
it? What then is a planet without sentient life to know it exists?
So
it has been written that not only will the Sahara Supposition produce great
wealth for an area that needs it; it will turn ruin and contaminates into
purity and refined cleanness. Shaping a new environment that will produce
new areas for animal life and new areas for plant life to flourish. For the
next thousand years, there will be a new rainforest, new lungs for Mother
Earth.
New
plant life that may also save humankind with the new drugs it may produce.
The Sahara is almost God-given in what it holds and it will be a guarded
habitat if created, one that will have covenants, to stop any unreasonable
exploitation. It will be part of the present 3% of landmasses saved as
Nature Reserves. It is hoped that if this supposition should ever come
about, it will be sacrilege to exploit this land, for the benefit of only a
few and it will be revered as our new savior. It will become part of the
human condition that such things are sacred.
The
Sahara Desert is the final frontier; the edge of a new thinking in a
Management that is Global, and not self-seeking but selfless.
Would
William Mckinley (March 4th 1897 to September 14th 1901), the 25th President, if
he could be questioned, comment that society in the year 2000 is out of control
environmentally,
compared with the halcyon days of the last turn of the century? Maybe not, but what could Bill Clinton say,
if he compared 1900 with 2000.
Up to 25,000
American police officers are injured in the line of duty each year, with nearly
200 killed. Up to 25,000 Americans are murdered each year. That is on average
500 per year for each State, or ten each week. So on average more than one
police officer is injured and one person is murdered everyday in every State.
Could that one person be you?
As
you put your socks on tomorrow morning, tell yourself it could never be
you. Then tell yourself that the year 2100 will arrive and the world society
will be no different from the year 2000. Air
will be cool and refreshing and water will be clear and sweet, or will it?
It just
might be as different as 1900 was to 2000, and might the future of sentient life on this planet be foretold
somehow, within Science Fiction.
The
Producer of Bladerunner, the Englishman Michael Deeley,
commented that his film was a:
" . . . . vision of the World,
which was plausible."
One of
the actors stated that in the time portrayed in the movie,
"
. . . . . LA was a cess-pool."
How far away is it when Fact
will follow Fiction in this instance?
Reported on the 1st February 2001 - " Blade
smog to choke us ".
Eminent scientists calculate that poisonous smog will choke the
northern hemisphere by 2100. The WARNING had been buried in a SECRET
UN Report. Experts predict that half the world will be like the
smoky-hell in the famous movie Blade Runner. Ozone levels
will triple and destroy rainforests, speeding the Global Ending
Syndrome; deaths will soar for people who have to breathe.
YOUNG PERSON
Is
there any young person reading this document now who will, in say seventy
years time, have his or her head crushed-in by some sociopath because the
government of the day could not protect their citizens, could not make this
world a better place. How sad is it that a
person can live a good and happy long life, only for it to be
cut short by a disillusioned fellow human being. None of us know how we are
going to die, but we can try to shape our destiny, so that we get the very
best out of life. So what does flash before
us a that point in life that has been pondered upon a million times. The
point of death!
Do
we think: " . . . . . if
only!" If only society had had more compassion, had done
something to change things.
Will
we think ' if only ' , when there is is no air left to
breathe no clean water to drink and the only land left is the top of sky-scrapers,
which will be known as ice-scrapers, will we all think:
' . . . .
if only! '
The
Sahara Desert
Conclusion.
Such
is its size, that it is as varied as it is big. Politically,
the Sahara lies largely in Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt,
Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Chad, and Sudan. Once one country would accept a
reasonable payment for land that has no real use to them, others would
follow. Not only for the original payment but also for what this large world
investment would bring to their people.
The African continent has all that
is needed to be as worthy of progress, it has the means and the human
resource to compete in the world, as well as any body. There are many
millions who would emigrate if only the status quo was changed and Africa
had a future.
If this venture is
ever considered it must be carried out with the concerns of the environment
uppermost in its architect’s minds. It must be an endeavor that would
nourish Mother Nature not just take from her, as it always has seemed in the
past.
An
Ice Age that would now affect all lands north of Boston, in the UK and
Boston in the USA.
Due
to the saturation of the salt-laden oceans with fresh water that came from
the melted ice-packs, the natural convection of the oceans was halted and
changed significantly ground level whether conditions. It killed the global climate,
and Earth was thrust into this premature Ice-Age. This could be again the
result of Global Warming if it is not stopped.
The trouble is that, as a whole body of Earthlings, statistically we are
nearly all ignoring this phenomenon.
Consider further that Globally, the
penultimate year
of the second millennium was the hottest, on average, since records began.
The year 1998 was not just a year that was out of the average. A most
memorable year that we could reminisce about in our old age as being a year
to recollect about our great suntan, because of the sunny days it brought,
but something much more sinister.
Please consider
further, that on October 12th 1999, in this momentous year, the world’s population reached the six billion
mark. The UN declared that this person was a Bosnian. If anyone knows
who he/she is let us know. It is also predicted by our United Nations
there will be 8.5 billion of us by 2025. Having a populace of over six
billion maybe some precedent to us humans, but how do we know whether some
other kind of sentient life ever reached this milestone, during its position
of being an Earthling, over a billion years ago?
Every minute of
every day 75 people die. Every minute of every day 150 children are born.
Most thinkers understand that it will be rising populations that will one
day be cogitated on, as the ultimate ruin of civilization as we know it.
Ecology Mathematicians calculate that a populace of 12 billion humans would
be the finite mark where Earth could conceivably sustain all life.
However,
the World Bank foresees 22 billion customers before Mother Nature moves onto
another era that does not include humanity.
Population
is indeed ultimately our biggest enemy. Does it really take a college education for any
of us to realize this? Nevertheless, how do you change this when the human
animal has been hormonally aided and abetted to reproduce at will for a
hundred thousand years; conditioned to generate new life as an act of
survival? In spite of this, such is the whim of Nature, if this
intrinsic way of life is not changed it will be our doom.
This is
notwithstanding the anomalous fact that the US Bureau of Statistics now
declares that because of the extreme threat from AIDS, on the continent of
Africa, within ten years people will be dying at an unprecedented rate. A
death-rate beyond imagination. Nearly 40 Million people; living human beings
have died from AIDS in Africa alone. Perhaps 40 Million still living have
AIDS. By the time these 40 Million are dead there may well be 80 Million HIV
positive individuals living in Africa. This huge rate is due to ignorance
and lack of proper education. Who in the Western world was scared of AIDS 30
years ago. Nobody, because we did not know about it, as it was some dormant
time-bomb waiting to go off. And there are still people
living in Africa, who do not know about the dangers of AIDS. Ultimately the
root of all this lays with the lack of past investment and of course future investment.
UN
Urges Africa's Religious Leaders To Join AIDS June 2002
The
United Nations envoy on HIV/AIDS in Africa urged religious leaders
to use their influence to help fight AIDS.
UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan's special envoy, Stephen Lewis,
told a conference that so far religious voice had been "muted"
on the topic of AIDS.
"Who else, beyond yourselves, is well-placed to lead? Who
else has such a network of voices at the grass roots level?" he
told a conference of religious leaders in Nairobi.
"So where is that leadership? Dare I say that the voice of
religion has been curiously muted? ... It is time, it is well past
time, that you summoned your awesome reserves of strength and
followers and commitment to lead this continent out of its
merciless vortex of misery."
Churches in Africa have increasingly come under fire for
condemning the use of condoms.
Lewis said the United Nations acknowledged that not all religious
groups would accept the use of condoms, but asked religious
leasers to look at statistics for sexual activity amongst young
people today.
"It's very easy to nail the churches on condoms, but it's
such an oversimplification of the problem," he said. "This
is a massive problem which has to be tackled at every conceivable
level."
South
Africa, the country with the highest number of HIV/AIDS
cases in the world, released figures indicating that infection
rates of the HIV infection among pregnant mothers under the
age of 20 is at 15.4 percent of them. [ Associated Press.]
He
added that the number of South Africans who are HIV-positive - 4.7
million, or one in nine citizens - has remained nearly stable
since 2000.
In
April, the government of South Africa shifted its approach to
become more aggressive in fighting AIDS, abandoning its denial
that HIV causes AIDS. The data released on Monday, however, met
with some international skepticism.
"It's
a leap of logic that you can go from pregnant women to extrapolate
on men, teen-agers. It's not a random sample of all pregnant
women, or of all HIV-positive people," said Neil Cohen,
an economist with the U.S. Agency for International Development.

AIDS PAGE - What is AIDS / HIV
For
Africa, this is indeed, a catastrophe that will outperform all others that
have been before. Moreover, already the average age of a human being in
Africa, nears that of only 30. A time for most of us when our lives
are just starting. It will only get worse, and if we consider the thin
edge syndrome, through ignorance and misguidance we must wonder what
will come first. The New Ice Age, or when the average time of mortality for
a citizen of Africa is only 18. When in our new century, in our new
millennium, could this happen?
Swaziland:
World's Second Highest HIV Rate
19 August 2002
Swaziland
now has world's second-highest HIV rate , second only to Botswana.
The country's National Emergency Response Committee on HIV and AIDS, an
independent body formed last month by Prime Minister Sibusiso Dlamini, estimates
that 34.2% of adults are infected with the virus.
Botswana has a HIV infection rate of about 40% amongst its adult population.
AIDS
Will there be a time when scientists will
confront us and announce that perhaps two thirds of any inhabited hemisphere
will be covered in fifty meters of ice, in a span of only thirty years. Will
we all then start to bring opposition to this inevitability and only then
try to stop what we are all doing? I hope I am dead
to see it.

oil, so even having a million liters of it could never quench a thirst..
The Big Takers of the World,

Experts

We treat it with total disrespect and take it totally for granted.
RAILWAYS.
The US standard railroad
gauge (width between the two rails) is 4 feet 8.5 inches. That's an
exceedingly odd number. Why was that gauge used? Because that's the way they
built them in England, and the US railroads were built by English
expatriates. Why did the English build them like that? Because the first
rail lines were built by the same people who built the pre-railroad
tramways, and that's the gauge they used. Why did "they" use that
gauge then? Because the people who built the tramways used the same jigs and
tools that they used for building wagons which used that wheel spacing.
Okay! Why did the wagons have that particular odd wheel spacing? Well, if
they tried to use any other spacing, the wagon wheels would break on some of
the old, long distance roads in England, because that's the spacing of the
wheel ruts. So who built those old rutted roads? The first long distance
roads in Europe (and England) were built by Imperial Rome for their legions.
The roads have been used ever since. And the ruts in the roads? Roman war
chariots first formed the initial ruts, which everyone else had to match for
fear of damaging their wagon wheels. Since the chariots were made for (or
by) Imperial Rome, they were all alike in the matter of wheel spacing. The
United States standard railroad gauge of 4 feet, 8.5 inches derives from the
original specification for an Imperial Roman war chariot. Specifications and
bureaucracies live forever. So the next time you are handed a specification
and wonder what horse's ass came up with it, you may be exactly right, because the Imperial Roman war chariots were made just
wide enough to accommodate the back ends of two war horses. Thus, we have
the answer to the original question.
Now the twist to the story..............There's
an interesting extension to the story about railroad gauges and horses'
behinds. When we see a Space Shuttle sitting on its launch pad, there are
two big booster rockets attached to the sides of the main fuel tank.
These are solid rocket boosters, or SRBs. The SRBs are made by Thiokol
at their factory in Utah. The engineers who designed the SRBs might
have preferred to make them a bit fatter, but the SRBs had to be
shipped by train from the factory to the launch site. The railroad line
from the factory had to run through a tunnels in the mountains. The SRBs
had to fit through that tunnel. The tunnel is slightly wider than the
railroad track, and the railroad track is about as wide as two horses'
behinds. So, the major design feature of what is arguably the world's most
advanced transportation system was determined over two thousand years ago by
the width of a Horse's Ass!
New
cities could be built that are energy efficient and built
and designed in ways that would protect the environment.
Every
single day around 25,000 people die because they do not have enough
food to eat or through some other hunger-related cause. However,
thorough some intervention from the wealthy West this is less than
the 35,000 10 years ago and the 40,000 20 years ago. Sadly 75% of
all these deaths are children under five years old.
EIGHT THOUSAND CHILDREN DIE
EVERY DAY FROM LACK OF CLEAN WATER IN AFRICA.
50,000
PEOPLE die EVERYDAY, quite unnecessarily through some erroneous dilemma!
Today
10% of children in developing countries die before the age of five.
This is down from 28% fifty years ago. - CARE
Recent
research indicates that even mild under nutrition experienced by young
children during critical periods of growth may lead to reductions in
physical growth and affect brain development.

McKinley was in power during the
turn of the century before last. Clinton was in power at the turn of the millennium.
If the significance between these two times is repeated in 2100, where will we
be?
Whilst
not very original, The Sahara Supposition may even be
accused of being all things to allmen;as something that tries
to hammer out a truth. It covers many issues, but these are pieces of a
jigsaw that will one day come together. It is hoped that the real truth of its words can
shine through and have it seen that it has been written, perhaps not to
accomplish anything but to just, put
it out there.
To find out what the world thinks and to see how much response is given from
the FOUR thousand or so agencies that we hope to contact, and the many who
will undoubtedly visit the Internet Site. Maybe it is a mission
statement; not just for us but for every man, woman and child whom may read it.
If
you can help us at all please do. Please recommend this site to your 5 best
friends.
If
the e-mail fraternity of the New Cyber World take it for its own; take it
that it is:
FOR THE ATTENTION OF EVERYBODY
and forward it onto a friend or a colleague because they know it is the
truth. Or post it to some politician that they may feel might actually
try to do something or to someone else who also just wants to put it
out there, into cyberspace, then it will one day have been read by
EVERYONE. It might just sow one grain of fact, one seed that may make us
know the truth, and set us all free in some future time.
We are
growing
In our first year we achieved 10,000 hits,
in the second year 40,000 people clicked on board to read something
that we had written. In our third year, we received 150,000 hits and
nearly 400,000 pages were read. Today we regularly get over 5,000
hits in a day and 8,000 people everyday read a snippet or two of what we have
put together.
We achieved ONE
MILLION HITS on 9th March 2005.
We achieved TWO MILLION
HITS on 25th November 2005.
On
the 9th of March 2005, we attained that 1,000,000 Hit.
We suspect we will hit another million before 2005 is
out. Thanx to all those have logged-on. March

This
page, is about Terraforming the Sahara Desert, to reclaim
it for the benefit of the Planet Earth,
to produce a new
Rainforest and an Ocean of fresh water and a new wealth for Africa. Out of our
predicted 1,000,000 pages read in the next year, perhaps this page
will be read only 4,000 times, and how many will get this far?.
